Julien Pouget (1975) is the Director of ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique) since 2011.
He was previously (2008-2011) the Head of the Director General's Office at INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies).
Outside of his work at ENSAE he is also an Associate Professor in Economics at Ecole Polytechnique (Paris-Saclay) and Research Fellow of IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor, Bonn).
His main research interests are in empirical labour economics and public economics, focusing on economics of the public sector, economics of crime, economics of discrimination, and evaluation of social programs.
As Director of ENSAE, he helped launch a new Data Science Master in 2013, combining statistics, computer science, economic analysis and strategy.
