Neel Sundaresan has been a technology executive leading research as well as product teams.
For the past decade he has led eBay’s Research and advanced data technologies labs creating and directing diverse teams in data science, machine learning, economics, HCI, computer vision, and search.
At eBay he pioneered adoption and use of big data and data tools to drive product, marketing and business decisions at the company. He also holds a position as adjunct Professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz where he helps drive the advanced data science program.
Prior to eBay, he was a co-founder and CTO at a network CRM and search company and prior to that he was a manager at IBM research where he drove a number of web mining, search, and XML technologies initiatives. He has over a 100 issued patents and over a 100 pending patents, and over 80 publications in research conferences and journals.
He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
