Nicolas graduated from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (major in Mathematics) and from the École Nationale de Statistique et de l'Administration Économique (major in Financial Engineering) in 2006.

From 2006 to 2010 he worked as an expert at the French Treasury on economic policy and debt issues. Then he was a senior quantitative risk manager in charge of a risk-modeling team in a leading French bank (Société Générale) for 2 years.

In 2012 he founded a first venture with Vincent Lepage: Cinequant, providing the next generation (web-based SAAS) of statistical consulting and solutions to various industries. In 2013 Nicolas and Vincent joined with Maxime and founded AlephD. In summer 2013 AlephD was VC-funded. In 2015 AlephD has a team of 15, is operating in 5 continents and generates a >1M€ annual revenue.

The outbreak of automation in the digital-media industry has revolutionized the way ad-spaces are sold.
Today, most ad-slots can be traded in real-time, through auctions, while a web, video or mobile content is being loaded. The possibility of trading media on automated platforms - programmatic selling - has created huge opportunities both allowing better targeting and higher efficiency at a large scale.
Although very promising, taking these opportunities requires to adapt to a world where sophisticated algorithms take buying and selling decisions driven by large amounts of data to fulfill high-level business goals.
Adapting to this world involves the ability to handle the ever-larger amount of data available about a given user visiting a website or a mobile app as well as the data generated by the transactions themselves.

On theses programmatic platforms many ways of trading coexist and compete:
- Automatic trading of individual ad-impressions in open auctions
- Manual trading of automatically packaged impressions - deals - with standardized characteristics: optionality, price or volume garanties, triggers, added data, etc.
AlephD developed a platform for media sellers to take pricing decisions on all these channels. Nicolas will share some of the experience of AlephD on how big-data and machine learning can significantly boost a publisher revenue and streamline the pricing processes.
